i have very recently decided to take a stab at becoming an autonomous presence in the online graphic design industry. okay. so, i’ve been taking some of these stabs down some dark alleys to see which light up. this blog is dedicated to the journey.

what this blog is for me:
1 : an outlet. a way for me to share what i’m learning. i figure it’s better to unload here than at the bars… after all, that’s how you lose friends.
2 : a way to share the invaluable resources i’ve found. i know that when i find a blog that i LOVE, i usually find more treats hidden in their links! i want to join in this connectivity. well, hopefully!
3 : an attempt at receiving feedback. i find myself randomly searching through blogs to see what’s worked for people and what hasn’t. well, hopefully i can post my quandaries here and get some answers without the hours of searching on my own. we’ll see.
4 : another place for me to organize, categorize and form my life into organized lists.

a little about me:
YEA, i realize that investing in a domain name and aggressively seeking a local clientele would be the most attractive way to make a living in this field. that route usually requires way less work and delivers a more reliable source of income.
HOWEVER, that is just not the route for me. i HATE the phone. i’m uncomfortable until i feel as though i completely understand a client’s visual taste (which usually comes down to the taste of 1 to 2 individuals… subjective, to say the least). so, what i’m doing here is trying to make my own way and see how far i get with it…
